Santa Pau is a town and municipality in the county of Garrotxa. It had 1516 inhabitants in 2004. It's located in the heart of the Natural Park of the Olot Volcanic Zone, in the middle of the valley between the ridges of Mount San Julian and Santa Maria. It's about 496 m above sea level. In this place there are points of special interest as the Santa Margarida volcano, the volcano Croscat and the waterfall Can Batlle.
