The building was built between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, by its main promoter Bishop Berenguer Prats (1316- 1340). It was rebuilt in the eighteenth century, adding a new adjacent building.
In 1931 it was declared Historical Artistic Monument of national interest. At the first floor is the chapel of the palace, the most outstanding feature of the set, which is accessed through a spacious Gothic hall.
