Historic Building

ALTES RATHAUS

This palace, which performed as Vienna’s town hall until 1885, actually dates back to the 13th century but a Baroque façade was added around 1700. The Salvator Chapel, with a magnificent Renaissance portico, houses display cases exhibiting maps and photos and illustrating the city’s history. In the courtyard stands the magnificent ‘Andromeda Fountain’, designed by Georg Raphael Donner in 1741
