The Cathedral of St. Lazare has a ground-plan in the form of a Latin cross, with an aisled nave, a plain transept and a three- stage choir with a semicircular end. The Gothic spire dates from the 15th century altough the west towers were rebuilt in the 19th century, based on the Romanesque style of Paray-le-Monial.
