LEIDSEGRACHT
The Leidsegracht is a canal in Amsterdam-Centre which connects the Herengracht, the Keizersgracht, the Prinsengracht en the Lijnbaansgracht. The canal was part of the urban expansion of Amsterdam and marked the boundary between the first and the second phase of construction of the Canal Belt. Between 1615 and 1658 the canal was the southern boundary of the city. The canal was named in 1658 after the city of Leiden.
