REGULIERSGRACHT

The Reguliersgracht is an Amsterdam canal, which connect the Herengracht with the Lijnbaansgracht. The canal with its canal houses is part of the second phase of the canalisation of Amsterdam and was built from 1658. It was initially intended that no moat, but a road would be. The Reguliersgracht is named after the Regular monastery, which from 1394 to 1532 stood outside the Regular gate.
