This museum preserves an important collection of Mosan goldsmith's work realised by Brother Hugo in the 13th century in the workshop of the priory of Oignies, on the banks of the Sambre. Hidden several times, Hugo's works miraculously escaped the destruction during the wars that followed the French Revolution as well as the bombing of Namur in 1944.
