The Musée de la Mode et du Textile is a museum of fashion and textiles located in the Louvre. It dates to 1905 when the Musée des Arts Décoratifs started collections of textiles including silks. Today the museum occupies 9,000 m² with about 6,000 items on display at any time, drawn from its collections of over 81,000 works representing the history of costume from the Regency period to the present.
