The museum is housed in the old steam engine shed in Vilanova i la Geltrú. A large part of the buildings originally date from the 19th century, including the so-called Rotonda, the most emblematic of them. The museum illustrates the history of rail and its technological development up to modern times, providing an entertaining look at the world of trains and their technical, social and economic impact, without forgetting their romantic and evocative side.
