Les Andelys is a commune in the Eure department in Haute-Normandie in northern France. It lies on the Seine, about 35 km northeast of Évreux and is divided into two parts, Grand-Andely and Petit-Andely. The Château Gaillard is a medieval castle, located in Les Andelys. It was the birthplace of two painters Nicolas Poussin (1594 - 1665) and Charles Joshua Chaplin (1825 - 1891).
