RUÏNES VAN DE SINT-BAAFSABDIJ 
In an oasis of peace, on the spot where Lys and Scheldt flow together are the ruins of the former St Bavo's Abbey. On this strategic place, in the 7th century founded Amandus this Abbey, in order to convert the region to Christianity. Next to the abbey buildings that evoke the monastic life and the museum collection that references the heritage buildings in Ghent, the site is also particularly interesting ecologically.
